ZooPlantLab is formed by due laboratories. The first one is the PCR lab where DNA extraction and PCR reactions are performed; in the second lab all the post-amplification products are purificated and processed.

Quanty-Tray systems by Idexx allow rapid and easy evaluation of presence\absence of bacteria in waters and their quantification.
In particular, it possible to estimate the most probable number (MPN) of coliform bacteria, Escherichia coli, enterococcus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa in a water sample. With Quanti-Tray® Sealer the mix of water sample and reagent is then automatically distributed in different wells. After an incubation period, the number of positive wells is converted in MNP. |

The spectrophotometer UV/visible in ZooPlantLab, that measure in the wave length range between 190 and 1100 nm, is versatile and can be used in different experiments. This instrument combine the advantages of a common spectrophotometer and different innovations that make it easy to use by non expert people. Indeed, the spectrophotometer is provided with a barcode reader for every kind of Spectroquant cuvette test for the analysis of different environmental matrix (water, soil, food). |

ZooPlantLab biological samples recording system allow to safely store both whole organisms or fragments (biological or plant tissue) and DNA with an unambiguous label. Samples are recorded by a data recording software (VisionMate) and a barcoded tube system.
